The Breast For Life Project
The Breast For Life Project is an initiative of Linda Ahearn of Toscana Studio and Gallery.

Breast cancer survivors volunteered to donate their bodies for casting pre and post surgery/reconstruction. These busts were cast and 25 artists were selected to create a piece of art depicting their unique view, or experience with breast cancer. 100% of the proceeds from a month  long silent auction (Oct 29th - Nov 29th 2011) will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Over $2000.00 has be raised to date.

Hereunder is my Encaustic submission.

"Encaustic is a beeswax based paint that is kept molten on a heated palette. It is applied to a surface and reheated to fuse the paint into a uniform enamel-like finish.
